DWR recommends limiting the number of dogs houndsmen can use

Because of campers an hikers complaining about the noise the hounds create they want to set a limit on how many hounds can be used to chase a bear...limiting the number to 8 dogs per bear....I think they ought to tell the campers and hikers to either put up with the noise or end up having lots of bears in their camp and along their hiking trails....

This is BS. All this is doing is infringing on the rights of houndmen in the state of Utah. The houndsmen need to stop getting pushed around by the state and tree huggers..... Our hunting rights are getting hurt by environmentalists and special interest groups big time. What is next????

They are increasing the number of tags hoping for a higher number of killed bears but decreasing the number of hounds you can use to only 8 will decrease your chances of catching an educated, stubborn, and big bear....It sounds to me they just want more money so increase the # of tags and decrease your chances of success kind of like dropping bombs on the elk herds to scatter them right before the archery hunt starts
